AKC CANINE GOOD CITIZEN:
8-week class only $100

This class is designed to train your dog to a level all your friends will envy. It focuses on your dogs manners in public and the reliability of off leash training. This class also exposes you and your dog to the exercises involved in getting your Canine Good Citizen evaluation. The CGC certificate is helpful in obtaining homeowners insurance in that it states you are a responsible dog owner and that your dog has a good temperament, sufficient training, and is not considered a nuisance.

Requirements:

Designed for dogs that are reliable in their commands for the Basic Obedience and Intermediate Advanced Classes and you must show that they are current on their Bordetella, Parvovirus, Distemper, Parainfluenza, and Rabies vaccinations.
Bring a 6-foot nylon or leather leash and training collar of your choice to the first class: You can borrow some of Angie's equipment at the first class if you're not sure what is right for you and your dog or see the Q&A section for more information on training equipment.
Bring something to motivate your dog; praise, a toy, treats, whichever works best and your patience. Although I find treats or toys an excellent way to build a foundation in dog training, I Do Not require that you use them. Learn more about the pros and cons of object based rewards in the Q&A section for more information.
